To those of you who are or already have applied for a scholarship,
So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, "On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided." Genesis 22:14 (NIV)
Ever since the start of Equipper Conference, we are thankful and give our praise to God as we see "On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided."
For this year's EC as well, we believe that this will be a great chance for those to experience God as The Provider whether through finance or whatever.
Q: What should I do to fundraise?
A: Pray (and pray with others) that God would be willing to provide financially.
We pray that there would not be any single person who cannot participate due to financial reasons.
For that reason, pray for financial support to be given. This year, we pray that we are able to provide $20,000 in scholarship. While we do not know exactly how God provides, let us believe in the promise of "On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided," as we pray to him.
In prayer, find out and ask others what you can do to fundraise and do it.
One thing you can do, whether via e-mail, snail mail, phone, etc., is to ask any others to pray for you.
Q: So exactly what should I do to fundraise?
A: First, please look at the Fundraising Manual. (Japanese)
In the manual, there are many ways written to fundraise for EC. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us about it.
Q: Wait...is it possible fundraise by selling EC t-shirts?
A: Two words...OF COURSE!!
One of the ways to fundraise for EC is by selling EC t-shirts! Those at the North America JCFN branch (HQ located in Southern California) are currently visiting nearby churches, introducing the movement behind EC, sharing prayer requests, and selling EC t-shirts. Profits made by selling t-shirts are then used as scholarships for those who need it at EC. If you are interested, please contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. Q: Well, what other things can I do that will help?
A: By waiting and proceeding according to God's timing.
By God's will, in doing that he will provide whether through fundraising, prayer, and even the most unexpected places; in experiencing this, we see how great and glorious God is. Again, if it is according to God's will that you participate in EC, he will surely provide.
Q: Okay, now when is the deadline for the scholarship?
A: The first deadline for the scholarship is November 1 and the final deadline is December 6th, 2017.
Q: I already registered for EC, but can I still apply for the scholarship? And if I wanted to, is it possible to cancel my scholarship application?
A: Yes. If you did already registered, you can apply for a scholarship by logging in to your EC registration page, and from there, you should be able to edit the option of whether you want to apply for a scholarship or not. While the deadline for a scholarship application is December 6th, 2017, cancelation of a scholarship application can be done on the day of EC.
Q: When will I know the amount I am awarded?
A: The tentative date of notification is from the end of November to around December 14th, 2017.
The amount we hope to have for scholarship funding is $24,000. While we believe that the Lord will provide as we are trying to raise funds for scholarships, we have no idea the exact amount we will be able to muster up. After December 6th (i.e. Scholarship Deadline), we will proceed in the distribution of the funds with the amount we were able to raise.
By December 14th, 2017, the amounted awarded should be reflected in your account. By December 20th, 2017, the remaining balance must be then fulfilled. If there is a case of reimbursement with the amount awarded, you will be reimbursed on the day of.
Q: Hold on a second, is it possible that I won't get the exact amout I applied for?
A: Unfortunately, yes as that is a possibility.
In the distribution of funds, we try to distribute based on what is available and amount needed per person. However reality is that most of the time, demand is greater than supply; hence it's much more difficult to provide funds according to the needs of each person. Overall, it's usually the case that nobody is able to receive a full scholarship to EC.
Q: So if I'm in a situation where I don't get the full amount that I applied for AND I still need financial help, what should I do?
A: We'll have you apply again.
Around December 14th, we will contact you about how much you have been awarded. If there still is a remaining balance that needs to be fulfilled even with the scholarship included, we will contact you.
In the case that God does provides financially after applying for the scholarship where 1) you would like to decrease the amount applied for or 2) you would like to cancel your scholarship application, please do contact us.
Q: If I don't get the amount that I need, then I can't register for EC.
A: Unfortunately we unable to help you anymore than that, but please do take the time to pray and think about it.
As the above information states, we cannot promise to any single person that their desired scholarship will be awarded in full before December 14th.
Although we cannot force anyone to participate in the conference, we would like those who wish to do so to continue praying about it; when God opens a door, he also provides. The story of Abraham and his son Isaac illustrates Abraham's unfailing faith in God. God did not promise Abraham that he would provide a sheep to sacrifice during the moment Abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac. God also did not promise that Isaac was going to resurrect either if Abraham were to actually sacrifice Isaac; despite even so, the father of faith believed that God is a good God.
Therefore, we encourage you to have an "Abraham moment" and take a step of faith. Please talk to God about this; we pray that through Equipper Conference, your faith and relationship with God will be deepened even more.
